I had the great privelege this month to attend my first ever International Christian Retailing Show earlier this month. The goofiness of this exposition is legendary, something the reality failed to deliver on. The overall attendance seemed rather slight to my novice eyes. And I'm told it was. I just hope that wasn't my fault.
A few highlights from the show. I got spend some time with my amazing agent extroidinaire, Steve Laube. And I got to spend quite a bit of time with the guy that heads the team that makes my books much better (aka, my editor, Andy). The folks at the Zondervan booth were even nicer and more accomodating than I had imagined. And I got to do a book signing alongside Brandilyn Collins--that lady really lines them up.
As well, I got to catch up with many other industry friends and meet some new ones. One of the most memorable times for me was getting to sit down at length with two writers who've helped me immeasurably along the way--Brad Whittington and Gayle Roper. They're not only great writers, they're great people.
For some reason, a few people decided to interview me. If and when those interviews are published I'll be sure to let you know.
The 'other fun stuff' is that apparently I'll be part of a panel discussion and book signing at the upcoming Southern Festival of Books, taking place in Nashville, October 10-12.
That's all for now...

I went to ICRS last year, just to see what all the fuss was about. Good to know but wasn’t what I thought. I wish I could’ve seen that billboard in person! I don’t suppose you’re going to ACFW this year?
